Our Story
First Floor Equity is a partnership between David Peters and Ron Halliday. We first met in early 2019 at a real estate meetup group and quickly realized that we had strong complementary skill sets and were working to accomplish the same goals.
We both spent many years in corporate America, but quickly realized that the money we were saving in our 401k’s would not be enough to sustain us through retirement. We didn’t want to spend our whole lives working hard and saving for retirement, only to run out of money before the end of our lives.
Independently, we had both developed unique systems to create significant passive income for our families using commercial real estate investments.
Building on our experiences, we envisioned creating a company that would provide strong and consistent passive income for other families through commercial real estate and from that – First Floor Equity was born.

David Peters
- Lifelong entrepreneur and business developer
- Extensive experience in startup businesses and business turnarounds in multiple industries (IT, manufacturing, Dot.com, hospitality and real estate)
- Over a decade of experience operating property and tenant/occupant-based businesses
- Extensive training in business management, financial analysis, accounting, employee management and government compliance
- Has broad experience in all phases of the business life cycle
- Currently operates a licensed general contracting company, a property management company and a residential rental business
- Holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, as well as a General Contractor’s license
Ron Halliday
- Full time Real Estate entrepreneur and lifelong learner
- 19 years using Lean and Six Sigma tools to improve manufacturing and business processes
- Broad experience in all phases of business and manufacturing
- Rehabs single family homes, operates a portfolio of rental properties, and Invests in Commercial Real Estate
- Passion for improving processes and helping people to succeed in all areas of life
- Specializes in bringing a calm and measured approach to problem solving regardless of the situation
